NATURAL TREATMENT: Teas to reduce late periods

By On 19/10/2020 0

In FEMALE INFERTILITY

Teas for delaying late menstruation are those that cause the uterine muscle to contract and, therefore, stimulate the peeling of the uterus.

Most of the teas used for this purpose do not have scientific evidence in humans, but are very often used in traditional medicine on some continents, especially in South America, Africa and Asia. In addition, some plants have also been shown to be successful in rat research.

Before taking any of these types of tea, it is necessary for the woman to take a pregnancy test to make sure that she is not pregnant, so as not to hinder the development of the baby, as any tea indicated for descending menstruation can seriously affect pregnancy.

1. Ginger tea

Ginger tea

Ginger tea is considered safe during pregnancy, as long as it is used in low doses of up to 1 gram and for a maximum of 3-4 consecutive days. In higher doses, this root appears to have the ability to cause the uterus to contract.

In this way, ginger tea can be used around the day of your period to stimulate uterine bleeding.

Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 cm of freshly cut ginger root;
  • 1 cup of boiling water.

Preparation mode

Place the ginger slices in the cup with water and let stand for 5-10 minutes. Then filter and drink 2-3 times a day

The ginger slices can be reused to make 2 or 3 cups of tea, and for this you can make small cuts in the slices each time you use them, to facilitate the release of more substances.

2. Senna tea

Tea in sene

Senna is a plant with a strong laxative power, but it also causes the uterus to contract. Indeed, it contains substances that stimulate the contraction of smooth muscle, which is the type of muscle present in the intestine, but also in the uterus.

So, besides treating constipation, this tea can also be used by women who want to stimulate menstruation.

Ingredients

  • 2 grams of senna leaves;
  • 1 cup of boiling water.

Preparation mode

Place the senna leaves in the cup with boiling water and let stand for 5-10 minutes. Then filter and drink 2-3 times a day.

Because it is a laxative, it is normal for sena tea to cause diarrhea, especially if the person does not have constipation. Ideally, this tea should not be used for more than 3 days, as it can cause a lot of abdominal discomfort, in addition to contributing to the loss of water and minerals through diarrhea.

3. Cold tea with radish leaves

Radish tea

Studies with radish indicate that cold leaf tea has a stimulating action on the uterus, facilitating menstruation. This effect seems to be related to the presence of saponins and alkaloids which cause the smooth muscles of the stomach, intestine and uterus to contract.

Ingredients

  • 5 to 6 radish leaves;
  • 150 ml of water

Preparation mode

Place the radish leaves and water in a blender. Then beat well until you have a homogeneous mixture and filter with a colander. Drink 2 to 3 glasses per day.

Radish leaves are safe for health and very nutritious, containing high amounts of vitamin C and other antioxidants which help to keep the body healthy.

4. Oregano tea

Oregano tea recipe

Oregano is an aromatic herb that is used in some cultures to increase blood circulation in the uterus and stimulate uterine contraction, used in the late stage of pregnancy to facilitate labor. However, and due to its properties, oregano may also be able to stimulate menstruation.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of oregano;
  • 1 cup of boiling water.

Preparation mode

Place 1 cup of boiling water over the oregano leaves for 5 minutes. Then let it heat, filter and drink 2 to 3 times a day.

Who shouldn't take these teas

Teas intended to reduce menstruation cause changes in uterine blood flow or contraction of the muscles of the uterus and, therefore, should not be used if pregnancy is suspected, as they can lead to serious changes in the baby development.

In addition, since some teas may have a laxative effect, due to changes in the contraction of smooth muscles, they should also not be used in children or the elderly without the advice of a doctor.

Why menstruation can delay

The main cause of late period is pregnancy, but hormonal changes, excessive stress, and high consumption of caffeinated foods, such as chocolate, coffee, and cola, can also alter the menstrual cycle. In addition, other diseases such as polycystic ovary syndrome can also cause a delay or progression of menstruation.
